Build this Arduino based Pinewood Derby car scale that separately measures the weight of the rear and front axles allowing it to calculate your car's CG position. The scale allows for setting the wheelbase (axle separation) from 2 to 7 inches so an accurate CG can be calculated. The scale greatly simplifies the task of where to place additional weight on your car and makes honing in on the ideal CG location quick and easy.
Add the optional PC based graphical interface (GUI) shown below to make the task even easier. The GUI provides real-time visual cues of where the ideal CG position is located and your car's actual CG position. The introduction screen makes it kid friendly so they can weigh their car as they check in for the race event. Switching between the two screens is automatic when a car is placed on or removed from the scale.
